IRU presented its work on a vision of the commercial vehicle of the future at a symposium on ‘Global truck innovation made in Europe – leading the way?’, at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition in Hannover. Participants were updated on how IRU’s work on the commercial goods vehicle of 2030 and 2050 can contribute to the ongoing political discussion in Brussels on solutions to decarbonise road freight transport. Such solutions should equally improve road safety and operational efficiency and that transport operators can continue to develop their businesses.
The event brought together leading partners from the EU institutions and national governments as well as different branches of the road freight transport and logistics sectors to discuss innovation in the industry. It was jointly organised by IRU and its members VDA, the German vehicle manufacturing association, and BWVL, the German transport & logistics association.
