IRU met with new Secretary General of the International Transport Forum (ITF), Young Tae Kim, to reinforce co-operation on the 2018 ITF annual summit on Road Safety and Security, and to reinforce collaboration on leading issues, including decarbonisation, and the ECMT Multilateral Permit System.
The SafeFITS model – a new tool to improve road safety
The development of the SafeFITS Model is part of IRU and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) mission to work in partnership to improve road safety, with a new tool to help governments design effective road safety action plans that will save lives.
Kiev Resolution highlights sustainable transport
IRU embraces innovation and change in Kiev at the 17th International Road Transport Conference. Setting the stage for the global road transport community to improve efficiency, professionalism and road safety, the event initiated the adoption of the “Kiev Resolution” for sustainable transport.
