Transport operators can now easily obtain their TIR carnets at the point of departure in Zhengzhou, rather than from Beijing.
As part of efforts to improve the accessibility and efficiency of China’s rapidly growing TIR market, a new carnet issuance centre has opened at the IRU-accredited TIR Logistics Hub in Zhengzhou.
TIR operators on trade routes originating from Zhengzhou no longer need to obtain TIR carnets from Beijing; they can now acquire them directly at the point of departure.
IRU Director of TIR and Transit Tatiana Rey-Bellet said, "This collaborative effort between the China Road Transport Association, the Zhengzhou TIR Logistics Hub and IRU will simplify pre-departure processes and allow companies to further boost their operational efficiency and competitiveness.”
Since the first TIR operation from Zhengzhou in February 2023, the city has played a key role in advancing international road transport connectivity, with over ten TIR routes now in operation. The TIR Logistics Hub, accredited by IRU in September 2024, has already partnered with 16 TIR operators, providing comprehensive one-stop services.
Looking ahead, another TIR carnet issuing centre is set to open at the IRU-accredited TIR Logistics Hub in Kashgar. This hub serves as a critical point of departure for TIR movements to Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia.
