Participating at the WP.15 United Nations working group meeting on the transport of dangerous goods this week, IRU welcomed the adoption of its proposed amendments to the ADR Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.
The amendments will offer clarity with respect to limits on loads carried by drivers per transport unit, to better facilitate the delivery of dangerous goods under an exemptions scheme. Strengthening the utility of the ADR Agreement, the improvements to current ADR tools will encourage further integration of the convention into global road transport.
Part of IRU’s wider effort to promote road safety, this week’s developments for the transport of dangerous goods come during the UN Global Road Safety Week: #SlowDown.
