IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto has appointed Vincent Erard as Senior Director, Strategy and Development, of IRU, the world road transport organisation.
In this newly created position, Vincent Erard will drive IRU’s development strategy, with a particular focus on value to members and the industry, and IRU’s profile and voice within the road transport industry and with its regulators, suppliers and clients.
In his previous role as Director of Corporate Services, Vincent Erard led implementation of a new strategy that has successfully transformed all areas of IRU’s operations over the past three years in a challenging external environment for the industry.
IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “Vincent Erard has demonstrated strong strategic leadership in helping me drive much-needed change across IRU, bringing new services to our members and improved organisational practices.
“His in-depth knowledge of IRU, our members and our industry, as well as his energy, dedication and strategic insight, will help the entire IRU family steer the organisation, and the road transport sector, to new opportunities and continued growth,” he added.
Vincent Erard joined IRU in 2016 as Head of Finance, where he revamped financial and budget management processes as well as improved internal controls and new governance and accountability measures.
As Director of Corporate Services from 2018, alongside finance and accounting, he successfully led additional areas including legal, IT, insurance and market research activities.
With the latter, he has put market intelligence at the heart of IRU’s work worldwide, developing a strong Strategic Market Intelligence team that now provides core data, insights and information for IRU members on a daily basis.
As Senior Director, Vincent Erard will continue working closely with IRU’s Secretary General and senior management, along with IRU’s members, partners and staff across all global regions, to continue IRU’s development, helping the road transport industry better connect societies with safe, efficient and green mobility and logistics.
