The UK's fastest-growing taxi and private hire technology platform has joined IRU as its newest member.
Veezu, founded in 2013, connects thousands of driver-partners to millions of passengers across hundreds of UK towns and cities.
Focusing on local transport needs, Veezu uses its expertise and experience in delivering millions of rides to support local communities and help keep towns and cities moving safely and efficiently.
IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “We’re delighted to welcome a new taxi member aboard. Access to transport is vital to any thriving community – and that’s exactly what Veezu offers.”
“As a technology-driven, on-demand mobility service, Veezu will certainly enrich the IRU network. We look forward to driving safe, efficient and sustainable road passenger transport together,” he added.
Veezu CEO Nathan Bowles said, “Given the pace of our growth over the past decade and the road ahead, joining IRU and its global network of road transport associations and companies will only help us to continue evolving and helping towns and cities to move safely and efficiently.”
“Our unique role at the heart of hyper-local communities means that we understand what matters most to passengers and driver-partners. We look very much forward to also sharing our understanding of today’s fast-changing taxi market with the IRU network,” he added.
The Veezu proposition is unique in the UK and has been responsible for its success. Veezu has centralised as much of its operation as possible and uses the billions of data points it captures to fine tune pricing and demand/supply management.
The company enjoys a close relationship with its driver-partners through the provision of local hubs where drivers can pop in, resolve queries, grab a coffee or use the multi-faith room. It also has a comprehensive outreach programme to understand the needs of its driver-partners.
Veezu has grown rapidly throughout the UK, helping passengers in hyper-local communities complete an average of one ride every 1.5 seconds.
The hyper-local model ensures that Veezu supports the communities in which it operates, providing funding for local sports teams and clubs and other local initiatives.
Veezu is focused on sustainable growth in the towns and cities that it serves, having invested more than GBP 3.25 million in low-emission cars over the past three years.
