More than 10 years in road transport with industry at heart
While working at LEPL, Land Transport Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, I was actively involved in the implementation of national reform and international standards: periodic technical inspection of Georgian reform, implementation of The European Agreement Concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles Engaged in International Road Transport (AETR) and The Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). From the Head of the Road Safety Department, I grew to Agency Director.
I always opt for a good balance between administrative work and connection with people. With this in mind, I am currently heading the Research and Education Centre "Road Transport Academy" (RTA), IRU Academy Associate Training Institution (ATI) and do consultancy on IRU capacity-building projects.
RTA services are quite unique and lay outside the scope of traditional training to be more relevant to business needs. Finding professional drivers is a challenge for the road transport sector.
To help transport operators to be efficient while recruiting, RTA joins a network of the IRU Accredited Assessment Centres (ACC), trustful partners equipped with methodologies and tools specific to road transport.
We will work with RoadMasters, IRU’s risk and talent management solution, which enables companies to get holistic driver skills profiling (covering both driving and non-driving skills) to organise objective and structured assessment during the recruitment process in order to select the right candidates and tailor their induction programmes. This service will be completed with innovative recruitment platform partnered with Jobia.
