IRU, the world road transport organisation, has published its annual report for 2023, looking at the organisation’s progress and achievements in shaping safe, efficient and sustainable road transport during its 75th anniversary year.
Following member approval of the organisation’s 2023 financial accounts today at its General Assembly, the IRU annual report is now available online. It outlines key results in delivering IRU’s mission – in terms of advocacy, the TIR system, certification and standards, intelligence and events – globally and in seven strategic regions.
The report highlights IRU’s work in a year when the organisation marked 75 years of achievements, with progress on key challenges facing the industry, including driver shortages, digitalisation and decarbonisation.
In 2023, a range of anniversary ceremonies and activities, such as the launch of IRU’s New Industry Shapers community, were also in focus at special events across the globe.
Additionally, given the industry’s critical role in dealing with various crises in recent years, IRU members adopted the Charter 75, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to help rescue people, rebuild communities, and strengthen mobility networks and supply chains.
In line with this, IRU awarded its 2023 Grand Prix d’Honneur to all professional drivers worldwide, recognising their collective bravery, courage and dedication.
