Driving TIR digitalisation between Iran and neighbouring countries
I’ve served as the Deputy Director General and the Director General of Iran’s transit bureau of customs and been on the TIR executive board since 2017.
I coordinated the implementation of the first and second successful eTIR pilot projects ever in 2015 (between Iran and Türkiye) and 2019 (Iran and Azerbaijan).
I’m also coordinating the implementation of TIR in new corridors in the region, including Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran, Iran-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan, Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul, as well as the first successful TIR intermodal journeys Slovenia-Italy-Türkiye-Iran (included rail for the first time), India-Iran-Azerbaijan.
I also provide TIR training to customs authorities in Iran, the Kurdistan region, and Afghanistan.
