It's all about the people

Growing up in a family that valued cultural diversity, efficiency and innovation, I was always curious about how goods and people moved seamlessly across vast distances.

Logistics networks keep cross-border economic activities and friendships alive. Such powerful impact is why I chose to pursue a career in road transport.

I am thrilled that I get to contribute to such a critical industry. As Vice President of People and Organisation Landtransport Europe at DB Schenker, I advise on all topics related to people for our different target groups (drivers, dispatchers, sales and branch managers, senior management, etc).

Together with my team, we help make DB Schenker an attractive employer and place to grow professionally. Our people are our main asset. We want them to have a great experience throughout their time at DB Schenker.

Working in a traditionally male-dominated field has not always been easy. But this has strengthened my leadership skills. Navigating these challenges requires resilience, determination and the support of many great mentors who believe in gender equality in the workplace.

I have fostered different gender-balance initiatives that have helped to get more women into leadership positions in road transport. Mentoring young women entering the field and seeing them flourish has been immensely rewarding.

But there is a lot more to be done. The single most important change needed is the formation of robust support systems and policies that promote work-life balance and career advancement for women.

As more women enter the field and contribute with their unique perspectives and skills, I see the industry becoming more innovative, inclusive and sustainable.

The growing presence of women will also inspire future generations to pursue careers in road transport, ensuring a diverse and dynamic workforce that can meet the challenges of tomorrow.
