Making trade happen
As an adviser at the Department for International Relations of Revenue Service for 11 years, I have extensive experience working with governmental agencies, the non-governmental sector and international organisations.
The fields covered integrated border management, trade facilitation, institutional and capacity development, customs risk management, single window, border security etc. As a TIR focal point, I am cooperating with IRU and transport and logistics national associations.
High degree of economic connectivity, interdependence and frequent changes (including force major conditions) require governments to implement effective internal and international cooperation mechanisms.
Georgia, located at the crossroads between Asia and Europe and serving as transit route connecting two worlds, actively cooperates with all partners towards developing its transit potential and facilitating legitimate trade, inter alia, via effective customs operations.
Digitalisation and the implementation of artificial intelligence is one of the key elements for streamlining procedures and facilitating cross-border trade. This is where business and government cooperation is essential, and this is where Georgia is progressing significantly.
Excellent cooperation with IRU and the national association has resulted in Georgia’s involvement in a number of initiatives, including the implementation of eTIR.
Implementing best practices, innovative approaches and strong commitments is our main drive.
