Road transport is the bloodstream of society

The transport industry is similar to the human body’s cardiovascular system. Everything will collapse if it doesn’t function smoothly. This is why connectivity is the cornerstone of economic life and sustainability.

When it comes to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) region, transport and connectivity is even more crucial, as the region has many landlocked countries.

Addressing the vital and highly strategic connectivity of the region with international markets has been a prime concern of ECO leaders when the organisation expanded from 3 to 10 members 30 years ago.

Since the expansion of ECO, transport and communication have been defined as two of the organisation’s most important priority areas.

The regional cooperation in the context of ECO has resulted in remarkable progress in connectivity, particularly in Central Asia.

I am very proud to be a part of the success that has been achieved over the past 30 years.

As the world moves towards greener transport, ECO has an important role to play in the green transition and to encourage the adoption of new technologies for an environmentally safe and sustainable transport.

For this inevitable future, we welcome further international cooperation and ask our partners to join us in building our common green future.
