IRU’s first Logistics & Innovation Solutions event hosted by TLN in Amsterdam today is a new platform to drive faster uptake of innovation and digital services in the market.
Highlighting market trends, the latest products and digital services, and the solutions to take the industry into the future, the event welcomed speakers from TomTom, Daimler, DKV, Wtransnet and more, with a keynote address from supply chain expert, Mark Millar.
The international road transport community gathered to learn about the most recent requirements on transport operations from major shippers and e-commerce platforms, and participants were able to share experiences and establish mutual business links, while networking with leading international service providers.
With IRU’s President, Christian Labrot, and Secretary General, Umberto de Pretto opening the event, the initiative has been driven by IRU’s longstanding engagement with national transport associations and chambers of commerce from over 30 countries via its commission on services.
Today’s forum offered a wider engagement with external partners for the first time, while connecting with IRU’s associate members, such as Volvo, Scania and DKV, which was a main sponsor. It also welcomed a number of transport operators from Dutch and German associations’ young managers clubs.
Zeljko Jeftic, Global Head of Innovation at IRU, presented new research by IRU on the industry’s approach to tech transformation, revealing that 65% of European transport operators plan to invest in digital solutions in the coming six months, to prepare for a digital future.
The discussions in Amsterdam today will continue at the upcoming IRU World Congress in Oman, focusing on “innovation on the move”.
