Rhonda: A proud trucker for four decades
I’ve been a proud trucker for four decades, starting my career as an owner-operator in 1983.
I’m currently working as a truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Lines, where I’ve received the ten-year safe driving award from Old Dominion Freight Lines.
I was recognised for ten years of safe driving by my previous employer, Walmart Transportation.
In total, I’m happy to say I’ve driven over 4.9 million accident-free kilometres.
I’ve also competed six times in the Iowa Truck Driving Championships, finishing twice second and twice third.
In 2020, I won the American Trucking Associations’ Mike Russell Award, which celebrates companies, organisations and individuals who creatively generate positive awareness of the trucking industry.
Besides spending time with my ten beautiful grandchildren, my favourite thing to do since making America’s Road Team is educating young drivers on how to be safe around trucks and attending career days, letting people know how great the trucking industry is and why they should join us.
