The International Transport and Logistics Alliance (TTLA) represents 25 of Lithuania's biggest transport and logistics companies, handling around 80% of road freight.
Founded in 2019, TTLA advances the interests of Lithuanian carriers at the national and EU level.
TTLA looks to ensure that the Lithuanian road freight sector is sustainable, innovative and progressive, in line with the highest environmental standards.
IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “We’re pleased to welcome TTLA into the IRU family. Together, we can further promote road goods transport as a key driver of economic growth, prosperity and trade, ensuring that it supports businesses and communities alike. The IRU global family stands to benefit greatly from their expertise in international road freight.”
TTLA Secretary General Povilas Drižas said, “We are delighted to join IRU. It allows us to better represent Lithuanian road freight operators’ interests, disseminate know-how and develop services for the industry.”
“We are eager to participate in discussions at the EU level on pressing issues such as the European Green Deal, the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and the Mobility Package. With the extensive experience of our members, the IRU community also stands to benefit from TTLA’s expertise in international road freight,” he added.
Lithuania is a front-runner of the EU road freight industry. It has had the highest volume of road freight per capita over the past decade in the EU.
