Participants at IRU’s EU Conference in Brussels next week will have the opportunity to explore two brand new electric vehicles from leading manufacturers.
The IRU EU Conference is on Wednesday afternoon next week at the Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels, focusing on Fit for 55, the EU's ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
After two years of virtual events, many IRU members, partners and friends are looking forward to meet again in person at this well-known annual event, although virtual attendance is also possible.
On this special occasion, IRU members IVECO and Scania will offer their latest new electric vehicles for attendees to experience first-hand.
IVECO’s new E-WAY electric city bus will be first on show, with its stainless steel structure and combining high quality, customisability and accessibility. It recently won an award for product design at the DNA Paris Design Awards.
Scania’s new electric truck, powered by lithium-ion batteries, will be up next. This new truck delivers substantial power and instant torque over distances of up to 250 km. Scania has partnered with specialised companies to repurpose and recycle used batteries.
Bringing together EU decision makers, mobility and logistics leaders, and representatives from the industry and non-governmental organisations, the IRU EU conference will discuss two crucial questions.
The first high-level panel will debate the EU’s readiness to roll out alternative fuel infrastructures, while the second will look into the need for incentives to support the industry’s transition, especially in relation to taxation and charges in light of the recent spike in fuel prices.
We would love to see you in person, or virtually, on Wednesday. If you would like to join us in person however, please register soon as spaces are filling up quickly.
