CORTE – a group of experts from EU member State enforcement bodies – intends to address the problem of divergences between EU Member States in the application of the New EU Driving and Rest Time Rules by developing a Memorandum of Understanding on the interpretation and enforcement of the Rules. Recognising the need for a common interpretation and harmonised enforcement, the IRU supports CORTE’s proposal to develop a Memorandum of Understanding and to apply it in road transport enforcement, provided the interests of all stakeholders are met.
