A market leader in health and safety training, Qatar International Safety Centre (QISC) has joined the IRU Academy as its newest Associate Training Institute.

QISC, established in 2001, has partnered with IRU to provide internationally recognised driver training standards in Qatar. Its instructors are now certified to deliver the IRU Academy Defensive Driving and Crash Prevention Programme.

IRU Director of Certification and Standards Patrick Philipp said, "We are thrilled to welcome Qatar International Safety Centre as our newest Associate Training Institute. Its longstanding commitment to excellence in health and safety training makes them an ideal partner for delivering our internationally recognised defensive driving programme.”

“With QISC’s expertise and the certification of their instructors, we are confident that together, we will continue to set new standards in driver safety training in the State of Qatar, thus further improving road safety and transport efficiency," he added.

IRU’s Defensive Driving and Crash Prevention Programme is designed for all professional road transport drivers.

The programme leverages technology to ensure strict adherence to the IRU defensive driving methodology, guiding participants to identify the main causes of commercial vehicle accidents, understand the key qualities expected of professional drivers, and apply strategies for managing the driving environment and vehicle. It also covers techniques for controlling speed and distance, as well as methods for maintaining focus and preventing fatigue.
