Trailer Dynamics, a technology innovator focused on electrified and aerodynamic truck trailers, has joined IRU as its newest member.
Trailer Dynamics is now a member of IRU, joining forces with the sector to shape road transport legislation, including weights and dimensions rules and CO2 emission standards.
The company’s eTrailer system and intelligent propulsion concept, coupled with its expertise in the electrification of long-distance road transport, will help the industry in reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “We are delighted to have another cutting-edge company become part of the IRU family. Their technologically neutral approach to decarbonisation is exactly what transport operators and the industry need.”
Trailer Dynamics Managing Director Michael Nimtsch said, “We are thrilled to join IRU. With the eTrailer technology, we will make an important contribution to the decarbonisation of our economy with sustainable green logistics for long-haul trucks.”
The electrified drivetrain of Trailer Dynamics’ eTrailer uses electrical energy to significantly reduce diesel consumption and CO₂ emissions or to increase the range of battery-electric tractors.
As a first step, the company is focused on the existing fleet of diesel semi-trailers, working to bring them into compliance with low-emission logistics regulations.
Founded in 2018, Trailer Dynamics is a system supplier that develops electrified and aerodynamic components, allowing semi-trailers to react in real time to the driving behaviour of their coupled tractor units.
