IRU Resolution on driver shortages and strategies for better recruitment and retention, (2010)

The persistence of driver shortages within the road transport sector is a critical employment issue requiring joint efforts to address problems by governments, road transport associations and companies. Challenges relating to working conditions, training, recruitment strategies, population demographics and the image of the sector within society must all be faced and overcome to avoid a future personnel crisis.
