Having noted with great interest the result of the first stage consultation on modernising and improving employment relations, the IRU welcomes the Commission's acceptance on the need for more information and research related to economically dependent workers in the second stage consultation. The IRU also considers that a sectoral approach would be preferable and that some principles of telework cannot apply to mobile workers.The IRU therefore recommends the exclusion of transport workers from any proposal related to telework.
