The Survey has targeted one of the specific concerns stemming from criminal activities: attacks on international drivers involving, almost systematically, the theft of the cargo, the vehicle and the driver’s personal belongings. The results of the survey presented in this report aim to increase understanding of the problem, clarify attack characteristics and dimensions, quantify the economic and other losses engendered by attacks and identify the best possible tools and means to protect international drivers’ life and health as well as their vehicles and the cargo in the load compartments.
