Big changes in Muscat

The last destination of IRU’s amazing We Love The Road campaign is Muscat where the transport sector is undergoing profound transformations.

Mwasalat, established in 1972 as the first Omani public transport company, is implementing a brand new network with proper timetables, bus stops and regular lines all over the city.

The digital changes that the postal services have undergone in the past decade have also made a big impact, with letters progressively being replaced by the delivery of e-commerce goods.

IRU unites all road lovers

IRU will be holding its giant World Congress at Muscat’s Convention Center and celebrate its 70th anniversary. This where the We Love The Road journey ends. Discovering road lovers of all walks and routes of life during this trip, in 18 different countries and cities, was an unforgettable experience that helped me paint a vivid picture of the transport industry from Europe to the Middle East to share with the world.

From the bumpy roads of Mongolia to the sandy dunes of Dubai, on trucks, buses, trains and a skateboard, the We Love The Road journey has truly been a wild ride.
