In response to the European Commission's proposals relating to the installation of safety belts in lorries, buses, coaches and passenger cars and also containing provisions to ban side-facing seats in large touring coaches, this IRU position recommends alternative measures to avoid banning such vehicles and make side-facing seats safer.
