SIPA Policy Dialogue on Sustainable and Resilient Freight Connectivity in Central Asia

Almaty | IRU participation | Invitation only

IRU General Delegate to the IRU Permanent Delegation to Eurasia Vadim Zakharenko will be attending the Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA) Policy Dialogue on Sustainable and Resilient Freight Connectivity in Central Asia.

He will speaking during the second panel session on policy dialogue, addressing the following question: How can trade facilitation and cross-border co-operation help to enhance sustainable freight transport connectivity?

This session will bring together experts from national governments and international organisations to share successful examples of soft measures, such as regulatory harmonisation and digital customs processes, that have streamlined the flow of goods. The session will also identify new opportunities to further enhance connectivity through improved co-ordination and innovative practices.

Other panellists include Celeste Laporte-Talamon (OECD), Mehmet Uylukçu (BSEC-URTA), Judith Blank (GIZ), and Fedor Kormilitsyn (ESCAP).

The ITF Secretary-General and ITF experts will join this mission on transport-related work in the SIPA, a 2021-2025 OECD initiative supporting cleaner energy, transport, and industry in Central and Southeast Asia. SIPA aligns infrastructure investment with the Paris Agreement and UN SDGs, particularly during post-COVID economic recovery.
