Celebrating professional drivers through its training, advocacy and awards programme, IRU marks the 3rd international professional drivers’ day by highlighting its Diploma of Honour.
IRU will issue a call to Member Associations at the end of the month to nominate outstanding drivers with a record of excellent performance and loyal service. Winners will be announced at the next statutory meetings in Oman in November, ahead of the 2018 IRU World Congress.
The Diploma of Honour recognises drivers who have made significant contributions to promoting road safety, enhancing the image of the profession, and inspiring the next generation of drivers. Drivers working in national or international road transport, including taxi drivers, qualify for the award and the driver can be an employee or an owner-operator.
